Warrap governor’s media unit injured in road accident

At least five people from the Warrap state governor’s media team are being treated for injuries after a vehicle they were traveling in got involved in a road accident along Wau-Tonj road on Wednesday.

According to the state minister of information, the accident occurred when the Toyota Landcruiser Hardtop tried to overtake another vehicle at Mapel Junction.

William Wol Mayom said some of the staff sustained arm and mouth injuries. They include SSBC television correspondent Daniel Mareng, who sustained arm fracture.

“He was taken for traditional bone repair in Tonj while the others are receiving treatment at a Chinese hospital in Wau town,” Wol told Mayardit FM on Thursday.

In related road accident, Twic County police have arrested one of its officers after his motorbike collided with another boda-boda on Wednesday.

The Inspector of traffic police in Twic – Colonel Kur Mabuoc Aruop – says the two passengers who were riding on the boda-boda identified as Akol Akot Agoth, 35; and Akol Akot Nyal, 22, both sustained leg bone fractures.
