
At least seven people, including four children and their mothers, were reportedly killed and five others injured in an attack by unknown gunmen last night in Tabar village, Ngagok Payam, Tonj East County of Warrap State.
Eyewitnesses said the victims were attacked while sleeping
outside their huts when armed men opened fire, killing them instantly.
Mabior Deng Achuil, an eyewitness told Mayardit FM that four
people were killed in one house, while three others were killed in separate
houses during the same attack.
“Four of the children are boys. One child was still
breastfeeding, while the others were aged 6, 7, 9 and 10. Their mothers were
also killed. The deceased were sleeping outside the huts in Tabar village,” Achuil
said.
Authorities have not yet confirmed any arrests in connection
with the incident.
The motive of the attack remains unclear as investigations
continue.
