The government of the United Arab Emirates has donated three state-of-the-art hospitals to Northern Bahr el Ghazal State.

The hospitals will be distributed one to Madhol in Aweil East, one to Wedwil in Aweil West County, and one to Ariath in Aweil North County.

Upon the arrival of hospital materials and equipment on Monday, the state Minister of Information, Zahacraih Garang Lual, told Akol Akol Yam that the hospitals will treat major illnesses that normally require referral to Juba.

"The hospitals will treat serious diseases. One of the containers was offloaded yesterday in our presence, and it was for treating nose, throat, and ear diseases. This facility will offer specialized treatments, and people will even come from Juba to seek treatment here,” said Garang.

The hospitals, fully equipped with medical equipment and medicines, will be run by specialist doctors from the United Arab Emirates. In three weeks, they will begin operating in containers in Madhol Payam, Aweil East County, for two years, as work on the permanent hospital facility begins.

The project is being implemented by Burjeel Hospital Holdings, based in Abu Dhabi. The hospital is a gift from the Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, to the people of South Sudan.
