Unidentified armed men on Wednesday reportedly shot dead two soldiers in different locations in Wila in Abeinhom County, Ruweng Administrative Area.
An NSS private identified as Kawaj Bol Manyuol was killed when the gunmen shot at a food truck he was riding on. The vehicle was destined for Unity State, according to area commissioner. He was on duty, escorting the food trucks from Juba to Yida.
Bol reportedly died on the spot. But no suspect has been arrested so far since the attackers vanished into the woods, said Matiop Dau.
Meanwhile, another soldier identified as Cherilo Kolnyang, 50, was attacked and killed at the military barrack that evening.
“Some criminals walked over to a military base . When they were stopped, by soldiers manning the base, they opened fire, killing Kolnyang and injuring a captain – Machiek Nyok Bol,” Dau told Mayardit FM.
