At least three persons have been confirmed deceased, six injured, and an unspecified number of livestock have been raided in Turalei Payam, Twic County.

The incident happened at Kuec village, Abayok Boma, late Thursday morning.

According to officials, the gunmen raided the cattle in the grasslands and injured some herders who were following them.

John Mabior Marup, the acting commissioner of Twic County, says that the raiders fled with a huge number of cattle toward Mayom County in Unity State.

“Some youth from Twic managed to rescue some cattle, and the fighting is still ongoing in swamp areas as I am speaking,” Marup told Mayardit FM.

However, the commissioner of Mayom County was not available for comment.
