Tanzanian singer Rayvanny has called on South Sudanese to
support local talent and promote unity ahead of the country's 14th Independence
Day.
Speaking ahead of his performance on the 9th of July concert
in Juba National Stadium, Rayvanny expressed excitement about finally visiting
South Sudan, describing the capital's energy as "big vibes."
"I have performed in so many countries, and I wanted to
come to South Sudan so bad because I saw some videos of my friends in Juba with
big Vibes. It feels good to perform. It's going to be nice and the best,"
said the award-winning artist on Tuesday in Juba.
Rayvanny added that his presence marks the start of
potential collaborations with South Sudanese musicians and a push to take
African music beyond borders.
“Being here I think is the good beginning of collaborations
and having songs together. Bring our culture together and bring our music to
the world," he stated.
"Criticizing is good because if you are not criticized
you cannot change. You don't have to be proud if you see someone from your
country fail to something."
The Independence Day concert, headlined by South Sudanese
singer John Frog, will feature a mix of regional and local stars including Eddy
Kenzo, Wing Bwoi, UPkidd, MT7 Degreez, Magai Lok, and Dj-Cent Mr No Rest among
others.
Organizers say the event aims not only to entertain but also
to promote peace, unity, and cultural pride through music.
