Nyang Ajiing Chut, 39, was reportedly riding a motorcycle from Nyamlel to Aweil town when the motorcycle hit a pothole, throwing him off.
He later died at Aweil Civil Hospital from internal bleeding, according to health officials.
Commenting on the tragedy, the chairperson of the Bar Association described Ajiing’s death as a significant loss to the state.
“He was a highly respected lawyer admired for his professionalism. His passing is a great loss to the state and the Bar Association,” Valentino Anei Amei told Akol Yam FM on Thursday.
Anei disclosed that arrangements are underway to transport his remains to his home village of Marialbaai for burial.
Ajiing, who assumed the secretary general position, was also the founder of Nyang Chut Ajiing Legal Consultant and Advocacy law firm.
