President Salva Kiir Mayardit has relieved two ministers and two commissioners in Lakes State.

In a presidential decree read out on the SSBC television, Kiir relieved Chol Kuotwel Manhom, minister for Local Government and Law Enforcement Agency; and Mawet Manuer Kok, minister for land, Housing, and Public Utility.

In the same decree, Kiir relieved Samuel Mabor Deng, commissioner for Rumbek North; and Mangar Machol Malok, commissioner of Rumbek East County.

However, Kiir appointed their replacements. Mabor Meen Wuol replaced Manhom, while Zachariah Magot Ater replaced Kok.

On commissionships, he also appointed Moses Maker Magok as the new commissioner for Rumbek North and Malual Anyuon Ater as the new commissioner for Rumbek East County.

President Kiir did not explain the reasons for the mini reshuffling in Lakes. However, Rumbek North has been one of the counties in the state which has been witnessing frequent cattle related violence, resulting in displacement of civilians.
