President Salva Kiir has donated 150 million SSP to Saint Joseph Catholic Church in Kuajok in Warrap State.
The president also offered 20 million SSP to people with disabilities who attended church celebrations.
He made the donations on Sunday during celebration of Saint Joseph Catholic Church centenary 100 years.
“For the occasion we are in today, I donated 150 million South Sudanese pounds,” he told the celebrants.
President Kiir says that the amount he donated will be used by church authorities for the activities at the house of God.
“The money will go to Warrap State account and the church administration will get it there,” he said.
However, Pesident Kiir, who is a Catholic, did not mention when exactly the money will be transferred to the state account so that church authorities could access it.
