Kiir mourns Gen. Bior Ajang

President Salva Kiir joined mourners at the residence of the lateLt. Gen Bior Ajang Duot on Wednesday.

“Late General Bior Ajang was a freedom fighter, a leader, and a strategic thinker whose historic contributions will be remembered by generations,” writes the Office of THE President in a statement.

Bior died of a heart attack on Tuesday night, according to Gen. Aguer Panyang, former army spokesperson.

He said that the Lt. Gen. Bior, who was also the chairperson of Twic East Community, had just taken shower when he collapsed and died.

Thousands of mourners, including other senior government officials and relatives congregated at the late’s home in Juba.

These included Vice President Rebecca Nyandeng, Dr. Majak Agoot, and Deng Alor.
