
Through a
presidential decree announced on the state-run broadcaster, SSBC, on Monday,
President Salva Kiir Mayardit made a mini-reshuffle in the Northern Bahr el
Ghazal State parliament and government.
The
appointments made include Awet Kiir Awet as state legal advisor, replacing
Angui Akot Akot; Ruay Dut Akol as minister of finance, replacing Andrew Lual
Buola; and Akoon Diing Angok as minister of Education, replacing Santino Bol
Akok.
Meanwhile,
Dut Akot has been appointed minister of Animal Resources, replacing Kerbino
Thiep Tong; and Gabriel Deng Yel is the new minister of Information, replacing
Zachariah Garang Lual.
The president
has also made changes in the independent commissions and in two counties.
The decree
named Santo Ajith Angonydit as chairperson of the Human Rights Commission and
Zachariah Mayuol Deng as deputy chairperson of the Relief and Rehabilitation
Commission.
In the
counties, Alakiir Dut Diing has been appointed commissioner of Aweil Center
County, replacing Peter Natali Okech, while Deng Kuel Kuel has been appointed
commissioner of Aweil North County, replacing Kiir Chan Wol.
In another
decree, the president appointed some members in the state assembly.
The appointed
representatives are Hon. Mangok Mangok, Hon. Mawien Akok, Hon. Upoth Malo
Ugirguok, Hon. Ayak Bak Aguer, Hon. Akoon Ding Angok, and Hon. Ajak Ayom Ayom.
All the
appointed officials are members of the ruling Sudan People’s Liberation
Movement, SPLM.
