4 South Sudanese among 42 media professionals trained in Netherland

Four South Sudanese media personnel are among the 42 global media professionals that concluded on Friday a three-week training on Digital media to counter disinformation and hate speech and Public Interest journalism in Netherland.

The three-week training that award trainees certificates in digital media to counter hate speech and public Interest journalism ; started on 5th-23rd June, 2023 with support from Dutch Ministry of foreign affairs as part of the Netherlands’ Development Policy and managed by Nuffic -the Netherlands Organization for International Cooperation in higher education..

The participants were selected through a competitive process from 18 countries across the continents including Africa, Asia, the Middle East, Europe, and South America.

The four South Sudanese who successfully completed the course include Lokiri Nelson Abusai of The Radio community, Emmanuel Bida of Defyhate now, Ginaba Lino for Catholic Radio Network and Abraham Machuor, Coordinator for GARD -a local NGO.

The Training administered by the Radio Netherlands Training Center (RNTC) provides trainings and coaching in media and capacity building for social change.

The centre trains three groups in a year; It got round 1, 2 and 3. This group of 42 media professionals is round 2 of 2023 and the last group of the year which is round 3 is expected to be in class in September, 2023.
