Warrap probes killing of Abyei Deputy Chief

Warrap state governor, Kuol Muor Muor has formed a fact-finding committee to investigate the kiliing of Deputy Chief Administrator of Abyei Administrative Area who was killed in a road ambushed on new years’s Eve in Aneet town.

“In the Exercise of the powers conferred upon me under Article 165 (2) of the Transitional Constitution of the Republic of South Sudan 2011 as amended and Article 99 (2h) of the Transitional Constitutional of Warrap State, I, Col. Kuol Muor Muor, Governor of Warrap State do hereby order for the establishment of the Fact-Finding Committee on the killing of Late Hon. Gen. Noon Deng Nyok, Deputy chief Administrator of Abyei Administrative Area,” the order reads.

The 5-member committee is headed by Makur Dhuol Ajook. Mayik Agoth and Andriano Anyuon as members together with two representatives of the National Security and CID.

“The Committee shall probe the allegations labeled against Twic Youths of Warrap State on the murder of Late Hon, Gen. Noon Deng Nyok,…The Committee shall report the fact-findings and recommendations to the office of the Governor within one week (1 ) timeframe,” the tearms of reference states.

Abyei Administrative Area’s authority alleged that the deputy chief was ambushed and killed along with his 5 bodyguards by the armed youth believed to be from Twic County of Warrap state.

The fac-finding committee formed by Warrap State governor whose investigation started on January 2, is expected to investigate the incident and give report to the governor within one week.
