Two killed in Rumbek North interclan clashes

Two people have been killed, and two others injured in an intercommunal fighting in Rumbek North County, police in Lakes State said.

The two sections Gak and Manuer sections of Pakam fought at Abyei village on Wednesday.

Lt. Col Moses Machuoc, acting police spokesperson, could not provide the details of the conflict, but he said the two sections have been engaging in series of revenge attack since 2019.

In addition, he said no has been arrested in connection to the clashes, though police are looking for perpetrators.

“I just spoke with the forces that are searching for the suspected ring leaders to bring them to book,”  he told Mingkaman FM on Thursday, adding that “The situation is calm” after deployment of forces in the area,

In early November, Gak engaged in violent clashes with Niel Niel, leading to the killing of two people and injuring of more than ten others.
