Tonj police looking for man who killed a teenager at a traditional dance

Police are searching for a man who allegedly shot dead an 18-year-old boy in Tonj South County of Warrap state.

The suspect reportedly turned his gun on the teenager at a traditional dance in Akuc Chieng village on the night of November 5.

The deceased has been identified as Wal Madit.

2nd Lieutenant David Bol Manguang, the officer in charge of Tonj town Police station said 7 people including 3 chiefs have been summoned to support the police in its investigations.

“People were dancing and it seems like someone entered into the dance carrying a gun and suddenly a gunshot was heard, and someone collapsed. He was a young man. People ran away when a person collapsed,” he narrated.

2nd Lt. Bol Maguang urged the residents to cooperate with the police in identifying the people who carried the gun to  the dance.
