The government of Warrap State says relative calm has returned to Alabek Payam of Tonj North County after the Sunday deadly communal clashes.
On Monday, authorities in Tonj North County reported that three people had been killed when Jueer and Palieupiny in Alabek Payam over land dispute.
The state Minster of Information, William Wol Mayom, says the calm comes after SSPDF, Police and other organized forces were deployed in the area.
Wol said that the culprits behind the incident were arrested but he didn’t disclose the number of people detained.
“They have also started arresting suspects in connection to the incident. So, the situation is okay now and no more fighting,” he stated.
Wol Mayom urged both feuding communities to refrain from fighting and keep peace among them.
