To assist his counterpart, the Governor of Warrap State, Kuol Muor Muor in reestablishing law, security, and tranquility, Governor Rin Tueny Mabor of Lakes State has announced that he will be shifting his office to Warrap temporarily.
Governor Rin made the statement during a public rally for security and peace that was held in Kuajok town, the state capital of Warrap, last night.
Rin issued an additional warning to those inciting violence to desist, stating that the government would no longer make concessions to those who would be exposed as the perpetrators of the violence.
“I will be living in Warrap State to support Governor Kuol in achieving peace, no matter the cost, and to destroy the opponents of peace who seek to defame the Bahr el Ghazal Region and the President of the Republic, Gen. Salva Kiir Mayardit,” Governor Rin said.
Meanwhile, Tong Akeen Ngor, the governor of Northern Bahr el Ghazal State, stated that intercommunal violence hinders physical development.
“Where there is insecurity, there can be no development. For peace to prevail, I pleaded with the warring parties in Warrap State to follow the law and order. Put an end to community violence by cooperating with the administration,” Tong pleaded.
Governors Tong Akeen Ngor of Northern Bahr el Ghazal State, Rin Tueny Mabor of Lakes State, and Joseph Garang, the deputy governor of Western Bahr el Ghazal State, were among the governors of the states that attended the ceremony.
Among the other prominent politicians in attendance were Bona Malual Madut, George Kongor, Daniel Awet Akot, and numerous others.
Warrap state is being overtaken by communal violence in the counties of Twic, Apuk, Kuac, Aguok, and Tonj.
