Police have arrested a 25-year-old in connection with the killing of two people in Rumameer County of Abyei Administrative Area.
Two people were reportedly shot dead and six others wounded on Tuesday after armed youths from Abiemnhom allegedly tried to disarm a group of armed men in Minyiel village.
The Area Security Advisor said the suspect was arrested on Wednesday night in a cattle camp in Rumameer.
Kelek Kon Lual told Mayardit FM that the organized forces are still searching for more suspects.
“Our country is ruled by laws, and…when you carry laws into your hand, you will become a victim and you will be sent to the court for trial.”
Kon warned armed youths against violence and their disregard for the rule of law.
