SPLM boss makes mini party reshuffle

President Salva Kiir, also the chairman of the Sudan People's Liberation Movement (SPLM), has revoked Dr. Benjamin Bol Mel as the party’s first deputy secretary general to align him with his new role as vice president for Economic Cluster.

The announcement was made on the state-run South Sudan Broadcasting Corporation (SSBC) on Thursday.

Santo Malek was dismissed as secretary for Political Affairs, while Bol Makueng was removed from the position of secretary for External Affairs.

Gen. Kuong Danhier was reassigned from secretary for Defense and Security to first deputy secretary general position, while Bol Makueng becomes secretary for Political Affairs and Political Mobilization.

In addition to this appointment, Kiir relieved Jacob Korok of his duties as deputy minister of Information, Communication Technology, and Postal Services, naming David Yau Yau as his replacement.
