A visiting couple in Dor Payam of Awerial County is reportedly in great pain after a strange snake attack recently.

According to a doctor, the husband and wife were bitten on the manhood and backside, respectively.

The incident happened at Pajrawau cattle camp on Friday night when the unnamed man and woman had just arrived from Bor.

The Medical Director for Bor State Hospital, Dr. Bol Chaw Manyang, described the health condition of the two as a “terrible experience”.

“The man received a bite on the private part and the woman received one bite on the backside while they were sleeping under mosquito net,” Chaw told Mingkaman FM on Thursday.

“In the first place, they were unconscious but now they are responding to treatment.

“It was a terrible experience but thank God today, they are better but still under medication, though the pain is severe.”

There have been reports of snake bites in the area in the area since last year.

It is not clear why such cases are on the rise, but experts argue that snakes are likely to approach residential areas when attracted by prey, such as rodents.

Regular pest control can reduce the threat of snakes considerably.
