The press unit at the office of First Vice President Dr. Riek Machar says it has opened a new Facebook page following technical difficulties in accessing the previous page, titled: First Vice President Office’s Press Unit, Republic of South Sudan.
In a statement seen by The Radio Community, the acting press secretary, Puok Both, states that they could not keep the media outlets or public updated due to the challenges encountered.
‘‘We are pleased to announce that we have created a new Facebook page under the title ‘Office of the First Vice President-Republic of South Sudan’.
According to the press unit, the new page aims to continue effective communication with the audience and provide timely updates regarding the activities of the office of the First Vice President.
‘‘We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused to the media houses, as well as the larger public who relied on our previous Facebook for updates. We understand the importance of staying connected in today’s digital age and we assure you that we are committed to maintaining a seamless communication channel moving forward,’’ said Puok Both.
In addition, the public announcement requested media houses to update their records to keep informed of updates from the first vice president office.
Also, it urges the public to like and follow the new Facebook created to stay updated.
