Northern Bahr el Ghazal State Assembly has on Friday declared three days of mourning following the death of the legislative assembly clerk.

Hon. Francis Makol Mou reportedly died in a road accident along the Aweil East-Aweil town Road on Sunday evening. Details of the accident remain unclear.

Late Makol served as the clerk from 2022 till his demise yesterday.

To mourn him, the state parliament suspended its normal business from Monday to Wednesday.

Hon. Garang Kuol Mabior, chairperson for Information Committee, says the people of Northern Bahr el Ghazal have lost a brilliant public servant.

“He was a very humble person. Everyone knew him,” he told Akol Yam FM.

“Makol is the one who heled us a lot at the state assembly, coordinating everything, including training.”

The 37-year-old left behind two wives and nine children - six boys and three girls.
