Mobile court begins work in Unity State

The Mobile Court has begun judicial proceedings in Unity State from April 2 to 15, 2025. Organized by the UN, South Sudan Supreme Court, and the Ministry of Justice, the court will cover the counties of Leer, Panyijiar, Mayendit, and Koch.

Madeng Latjot Madeng, the Head of the Prosecution Team and Legal Advisor to the Government of Unity State, has urged all counties in Southern Unity to submit cases dating back to 2012 for judicial proceedings.

“We don’t mean certain person. We are coming to solve all cases that happened since 2012 up to today, all the types of cases we are ready to solve them,” Latjot stated.

“We are passing this information to all people. The court is for you anyone has a case, let him come and open his/ her case.”

The Mobile Court aims to bring justice to remote and underserved areas, ensuring that citizens have access to legal proceedings while promoting accountability and the rule of law.
