Amos Yak Ring, the county health director, said this death cases were recorded between April and July 2023.

Yak told Mayardit FM that 14 out of 486 cases were tested and confirmed positive, prompting declaration of measles outbreak in the area.

“This is why the county launched the measles vaccination, targeting children from the age of six months to five years,” he stated.

Amos described measles as curable disease and he encourages public to protect from its infection.
