A man in Twic County, Warrap State, is being held by police for allegedly cutting off index finger of his sister’s boyfriend.
After learning that Adhar Mayen, 22, was dating his sister, Adhar Ayiik, 24, attacked the lover with a knife, according to police authorities.
Incident took place on Wednesday at Bol-Kuac-Lom village of Ajong Boma, Wunrok Payam.
In Dinka culture, one does not allow his sister to run after boys or men thus explains the motive of the physical assault – a practice the police inspector there objects to, saying “She has right to choose who she wants.”

Article 230 of the Penal Code 2008 stipulates that whoever causes bodily pain, disease or infirmity to any
person is said to cause hurt.
“Upon conviction, shall be sentenced to imprisonment for a term not exceeding six months or with a fine not exceeding SDG60 or with both,” it reads Article 231.
