Police in Gogrial West County, Warrap State, on Monday detained a man who allegedly beat his sister to death at Mayen Pajok Payam.
They say the unnamed suspect hit Amou Kuec Angok on the head and chest with a club during a heated quarrel.
The 24-year-old later succumbed to the injuries at a nearby health facility.
“The suspect was under alcohol influence,” said Col. Joseph Mathony, police inspector in the area, though he could not give further details on the motive.
He stated that the suspect was being held at the Akon police station.
