At least three people have been reportedly killed in an intercommunal fighting at Alabek payam in Tonj North County, Warrap State.
Tonj North police inspector, Col Mayen Chol says fighting erupted on Sunday at 5: 30 pm between two communities and over land disputed.
Mayen says youth from Paliceupiny and Juer section attacked each other after Paliceupiny claimed the land ownership.
According police two people killed from Paliceupiny section and one person in Juer, but the police officer could not name the deceased.
Mayen says authority have send join forces to area after fighting resumed on Monday morning.
“What we are doing is to make sure that joint forces reach the area to quell the clashes,” Col. Chol told Mayardit FM.
Last week, Warrap state governor Hon. Manhiem Bol Malek urged youth to stop fighting and maintain peace. His call came after some youth from Tonj East fought with youth in Rumbek North County of Lakes.
