President Salva Kiir on Tuesday fired his Deng Wal and replaced him with Kiir Yor as the new executive director in the Office of the President. However, there was no reasons given for the changes that were announced on the state-run SSBC television.
Yor served as commissioner of Aweil East County in Northern Bahr el Ghazal State on SPLM docket before the president relieved him on Tuesday and promoted him to the high office.
In March 2023, Deng Wal – who is also a senior member of the ruling party SPLM – was promoted to the SPLM National Liberation Council – the second highest organ of the party after the political bureau.
In a presidential decree read on the state broadcaster -South Sudan Broadcasting Cooperation (SSBC) Television on Tuesday evening, President did not name the new commissioner for Aweil East County.
