President Salva Kiir has on Wednesday relieved Patrick Oting, Eastern Equatoria State minister of information, replacing with him Martin Ojok.
Both men are members of the ruling SPLM party, chaired by Kiir.
Speaking to Singaita FM in a phone interview, Oting welcomed the removal from the office, saying it’s a normal administrative changes.
“I am very okay with the dismissal, for I have no issue with the leadership which appointed and relieved me. I am going out the way I came in,” Oting told Singaita FM.
In a separate republican decrees read out on South Sudan Broadcasting Corporation on Wednesday evening, Kiir also relieved Ikwoto County Commissioner Joseph Lokolong of SPLM-IO.
He appointed Timon Loboi Lori to Lokolong’s position.
The president also relieved Peter Lokale, state deputy chairperson for anti-corruption commission. However, no immediate replacement was announced.
No reasons were given for the relieF of the three officials.
