Kiir briefed on education and health situation

President Salva Kiir Mayardit on Monday received reports focusing on issues affecting the education and health sectors in the country.

“President Salva Kiir Mayardit received a comprehensive report from Vice President for Service Cluster, Hon. Hussein Abdel Bagi, on key issues hindering the country's service cluster docket, particularly education and health,” said Lilly Adhieu, presidential press secretary.

“Vice President Hussein also briefed the president on the general political landscape, where he emphasized the importance of national cohesion to address political issues and promote stability across the country.”

Hussein reportedly underscored the importance of continuing support for the Tumaini Initiative.

“This aims to foster collaboration among various political groups to enhance sustainable peace and development efforts in the country,” Adhieu stated.

The vice president further disclosed that President Kiir would, soon, convene a crucial meeting with the university vice chancellors to discuss and resolve the pressing issues of teachers’ salaries.
