A health worker at Kapoeta Civil Hospital has echoed call by the abandoned mother of triplets to help her feed the babies.
Last week, Lotiam Lobai gave birth to the babies at the public health facility. But in Toposa community, where Ms Lobai comes from, it is unacceptable for a woman to give birth to three babies at once. She is from Nakuroma village in Kapoeta East County.
As a result, no one from her family, including the father of the triplets, has visited her.
On March 30, The Radio Community ran her story, in which she appealed to humanitarian groups and individual well-wishers to support the bundles of joy. But there has no response so far.
“Ever since she came, we have never seen anyone coming to give support to her, including her husband,” said Drania Gift, senior midwife, told Singaita FM on Wednesday.
“So, at least we are trying to lobby for an assistance to support the babies and the mother.”
In 2020, a mother who gave birth to triplets was rejected by her family members, who felt that the triplets were a bad omen.
