Armed robbers allegedly looted cash from a media advocacy organization in a broad daylight in Juba on Tuesday.
The Association for Media Development in South Sudan (AMDISS) believes the gunmen followed its vehicle that was carrying an assistance finance officer back to the office from from a bank.
Upon arrival at the gate, the men opened fire at the Landcruiser hardtop, injuring another unnamed passenger.
“They followed the car when it was returning from Ecobank [located at] Koita Complex along Ministries Road and shot the car twice right at our gate,” AMDISS posted on its official Facebook page.
It said the unidentified men made away with $4,147 and 520,000 SSP.
The cash, AMDISS said, was meant for an in-house media training at Sama FM in Juba.
“Unfortunately, we are going to call off the training until further notice. The Incident has traumatized all our staff, who witnessed the incident,” it added.
Police are yet to comment on the incident.
