Gunmen kill 24-year-old man in Kapoeta South

A 24-year-old man has been killed by unknown gunmen in Kapoeta South County of Eastern Equatoria state.

The fatal shooting happened in Tahaninyang Boma on Monday, June 13.

According to the Paramount Chief of Kapoeta South County, the victim was shot dead while returning from a local gold mining site in the evening.

“He was moving along the riverbank on his way to the market then met the perpetrators who immediately killed him in a place called Napirian at around 5PM,” Angelo Longoleyang Lorot said.

He added that they found footprints of the suspected killers leading towards Nakeko of Budi County.

The paramount chief is urging communities to refrain from banditry.
