Two senior officials at Wargut Payam in Aweil East County, Northern Bahr el Ghazal State, have been reportedly shot dead by unidentified attacker.
The deceased are said to be the Lueth Mel Boma administrator and his deputy.
Aweil East County Commissioner, Kiir Yor, confirmed the incident but declined to name the victims, saying their families had not yet been informed.
He said the two were killed at Lueth Mel Boma headquarters on Friday morning. Two other people were injured in the attack.
“We don’t have information on who might have being responsible for the attack but soldiers were sent to trace them,” Yor told Akol Yam FM.
In 2022, a group of armed men killed 13 people in the same payam.
