The governor of Warrap state has upgraded five Bomas to Payam status in Tonj County.
They are; Adau, Panyiel, Athieng piol, Lou North and Roor- Kou Payam.
Governor Aleu Ayieny Aleu made the decision in response complaints by Tonj North over the long distances between the Bomas.
Bak Ajuot, County Commissioner said his County will now have 18 Payams instead of previous 13.
He advised those whose Bomas have been elevated to Payams status to embark on developing their areas.
“Please work in the spirit of development. You are upgraded for a reason, go and work in your Payams. This separation is not for boundaries…cooperate among yourselves to bring development,” Ajuot advised.
