Police in Gogrial East County, Warrap State, say they have placed a suspect under custody over the weekend road accident that left a women dead.
Police say Bol Malim, 21, hit the pedestrian with a motorbike in Luony Aker town in the county on Friday.
The victim – identified as Ayal Wol, 47, a local resident – reportedly succumbed to injuries she sustained in the road accident. She had suffered serious chest and head injuries.
“The woman was moving along the road at around 5 PM when the boda-boda rider knocked her from behind. She later succumbed to injuries at hospital while receiving treatment that evening,” said Col Madut Anei, inspector of police in Gogrial East County.
Col Anei stated that Malim, who was immediately apprehended at scene, has been transferred to Kuajok state police headquarters.
He explained that the transfer of the suspect to Kuajok was prompted by tensions from the deceased’s familiy who wanted to exact revenge.
