FVP Machar submitted the list of 22 nominees to the military high command

Sudan People Liberation Movement in the opposition says it has submitted a list of 22 nominees to the various top positions in the army, police, and other security organs.

The Acting Press Secretary, Puok Baluang said the list was summitted to President Salva Kiir by the leader of SPLM in opposition, Dr. Riek Machar on Friday.

The move came after parties signed a roadmap on Sunday last week to pave the way for implementing security arrangements.

The Minister of Presidential Affairs, Hon. Dr. Barnaba Marial Benjamin said Kiir received the list of SPLM/A-IO Command Structure to be absorbed into the Unified Command structure.

Dr. Marial further said the two leaders had discussed the ongoing confrontations in some areas of Upper Nile and the Unity States.

They called the army commanders to stop confrontations, and the people in those affected areas should live in peace and coexist in harmony.

President Salva Kiir Mayardit expects to meet again with First Vice President Dr. Riek Machar and Vice President Hussein Abdelbagi Akol on the final lists before forming unified command.

On Friday, South Sudan People Defense Forces (SSPDF) and the opposition commanders of the SPLA IO and Opposition Alliance have a welcome breakthrough in the security arrangement. They announced to graduate fifty thousand (50,00) soldiers this month.

The Chairperson of the national transitional committee has said the unified command structure will be announced by the president on Monday next week.
