Traffic police in Kwajok, capital of Warrap State, have arrested a 50-year-old foreign driver after his truck knocked down and killed an old man last weekend.
The driver was identified as Butan Mahmoud Mohammed, a Kenyan national, believed to be 50.
The director for Road accidents in the state – James Wol – said the victim, Thuch Machar Wukot, 60, was walking by the Kwajok highway when the vehicle hit her from behind.
“He was walking when the truck carrying goods came behind of him and crashed him. He died instantly,” Wol stated.
The incident occurred late evening on Saturday, April 29.
Last month one person was reported dead and another two injured in a similar accident in Luony Aker, Gogrial East.
