The Ministry of General Education and Instruction has said the 2024 Certificate of Primary Education (CPE) results will be released today after the approval by the National Examination Council.
Speaking during the 20th Ordinary Meeting of the Council,
Minister Dr. Kuyok Abol Kuyok commended all stakeholders for their commitment
in the face of ongoing economic challenges.
“Today, we will vet and approve the release of the eagerly
awaited 2024 results of the Certificate of Primary Education (CPE)
examinations,” said Kuyok. “The journey through the conduct of the examination
management has not been easy to the entire education fraternity in our
country.”
He applauded the determination of the examination team, emphasizing
their efforts to ensure that all candidates were able to sit for their exams,
even in hard-to-reach areas.
“Our investigators had to walk through streams and swamps to
ensure that every candidate has the opportunity to sit for her or his
examination papers,” he said.
Dr. Kuyok also called on the Council to address critical
logistical and financial challenges hindering the examination process.
“I would strongly recommend that you pay special attention
to the issues that hinder timely contact of the examination issues such as lack
of vehicles to enhance efficiency in the transportation of the examination
papers, timely release of funds from the Ministry of Finance and Planning to
meet the settlements of government obligations such as breaking of examination
papers and of course investment in ICT innovations,” he stated.
A total of 43,275 boys and 35,735 girls, amounting to 79,010 pupils, sat for the Certificate of Primary Education (CPE) exams in November 2024 across 551 centres nationwide.
