Drunken man dies by drowning in Ajak Kuac

A body of a 48-year-old man was recovered under Agany bridge in Warrap state on Tuesday.

Authorities believe the man died by drowning. He reportedly went missing for 2 days.

Ajak Kuach Payam Administrator said the deceased was under the influence of alcohol on the day he disappeared.

Barac Aguer urged residents to be careful with their movements especially with flood water submerging most of the dangerous pits and rivers.

“People should be mindful of their lives in this rainy season, especially for the children who are at risks – not only in terms of drowning but also diseases like bilharzia, skin rashes and others. So, let’s be careful with both human and animals at homes,” he appealed.

Officials in Gogrial East have so far  reported the drowning of 11 children and 74 goats in August and September this year.
