Denis Morris Mimbugbe, SAMA FM station manager, died on Tuesday evening at a cancer treatment center in Kampala, Uganda.
He
was diagnosed with liver cancer during a trip to India in December and
ultimately succumbed to the illness.
“With
deep grief in my heart, I would like to announce the passing on of our fallen
comrade Mr.Denis Morris popularly known as Ustaz Denis from Kamapala,”said Ochaya James, the executive director of
National Press Club (NPC-SS)
Denis
Morris Mimbugbe held a bachelor’s degree in education from the Catholic
University of South Sudan and completed advanced journalism training with the
South Sudan Media Forum.
With
a journalism career spanning nine years, he specialized in science reporting
across print, radio, and online media, covering critical issues such as water
management, pollution, climate change, pandemics, and child protection.
At the time of his passing, Denis was serving as the station manager for 99.3 SAMA FM in Juba.
