Police are investigating circumstances that led to the death of a man whose body was caught in a fishing net on Tuesday in Tonj South County, Warrap state.
The body was found in Agor River.
The deceased has been identified as Majok Thon Juma, 24. He was a resident of Tonj town.
A fisherman pulled up the dead body in his trawl net on Tuesday morning.
David Bol Manguang, a police officer in Tonj town said the deceased disappeared on Monday at around 5PM. He had gone to take bath at the river.
“The police investigator has been sent this morning to find out if the deceased was having problem at home, his movement from the house to the river, and to know if there is any one who quarrelled with him. So we are investigating that today,” Bol stated.
Police are yet to suspect anyone or indicate foul-play in the incident.
