Body of man found dumped in Tonj South forest

Police in Warrap state have found a body of a 28-year-old man dumbed in the nearby forest on Monday.

The deceased is said to be a resident of Manyang Ngok village. He reportedly went missing on Sunday while hunting wild animals in Roor Cuol  Akol forest.

Tonj South Police Second Lieutenant David Bol Maguang told Mayardit FM that they are investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of the man.

“This person was killed at a distance of 5 hours footing. There is insecurity in the area. The forest is large extended up to Western Equatoria state till Congo border which makes difficult to identify culprits,” he said.

2nd Lt. Bol called for vigilance among those hunting in the forest.

Last week, Tonj South Police reported that unknown gunmen also shot dead a 32-year-old in Malith market during the night.
