The South Sudan Basketball Federation says it plans to construct thirteen basketball courts across the ten States and the three Administrative Areas.
In a joint statement seen by The Radio Community, the purpose is to promote the development of basketball and youth in the Republic.
“The (SSBF) shall commit to complete the construction of thirteen (13) basketball courts across the ten states and three administrative areas by 2024,” the statement reads.
“The State Associations shall work together with the (SSBF) to oversee the project management of the courts and ensure that the timelines for completing the facilities are adhered to,” it said.
In their joint statement, the Federation and State Basketball Associations says it has postponed its due election until further notice as directive from the Ministry of Youth & Sports.
Luol Deng, the president of South Sudan Basketball Federation emphasized on the importance of maintaining focus on progress and collaborating to enhance the basketball and sports sector in South Sudan.
He said the federation is committed to continue engaging in dialogues and consultations with the state associations to achieve a greater local impact, mirroring its successful international accomplishments.
