Bandits kill one person in an attack on motorbike riders in Ikotos

At least one person has been killed and another wounded in a road ambush along Agoro – Ikotos road in Eastern Equatoria state.

The incident happened close to the border with Uganda.

Police has identified the deceased as Peter Lotari, a 26-year-old who was riding his motorbike over the weekend. He was reportedly in the company of 4 other motorbike riders.

He was killed by bandits who attacked the riders.

Ingong Caesars, the Executive Director of Ikotos County said the deceased has been buried in Ikotos while the wounded motorist is receiving treatment in Kitgum town in Uganda

“This incident happened along the road to Agoro. There was a group of people who went to Uganda to steal goats and they fought with the people of Uganda and they were chased. The goats were recovered and they (bandits) were scattered (in the bushes). Some motorists who were going to Agoro at around 8PM fell in an ambushed in a place call Chilok”, he narrated.

Gabriel Arok, the Inspector of Police in Ikotos County said they have deployed forces at the crime scene.

“The police forces were sent to the place where the incident happened…so we have deployed police.”
