Residents in Abuyang Payam are calling on the wildlife authorities to bring to heel a ravenous hyena that attacked a 30-year-old man on Monday night in Awerial County, Lakes state.
They say there has been an increase in the number of attacks by hyenas in the area over the last 2 months.
The attack on Monday, they say, is the second after 3 people escaped with injuries from hyenas in May.
An old woman and a child narrowly survived the hyena attack in May.
Major Mayen Majok, Wildlife Administrator in Awerial County said game rangers will be deployed to deter further attacks from the hyenas.
