Authorities in Kapoeta South County are investigating the killing of a Somalian trader along Kapoeta -Camp 15 road in Eastern Equatoria state.
The incident is said to have occurred at around 7 PM on Saturday.
Kapoeta South County Commissioner said the victim was carrying commercial goods from Torit to Kapoeta.
Angelo Lominit identified as Hassan Mohamed Ali.
“[He] fell in an ambush in a place call Lokales. The driver was killed. Suspects footprints entered towards a grazing land after the government moved in search of the suspects. The footprints mixed with the one of animals,” he said.
Commissioner Lominit condemned the killing of the truck driver – describing it as an unfortunate, but isolated incident.
