A 17-year-old local football player died of head injuries after colliding with a competitive team player at Aluakluak Payam.
The two young players were taken to Mapuordit Hospital on Wednesday after sustaining head injuries during a local football match on Tuesday evening.
According to the police, the two players collided while trying to hit the ball with their heads, leading to concussion.
“Police have detained the suspect in the police station and investigation will start after the burial of teenager,” said Major Mabor Makuac, the Police spoke person in Lakes State.
Meanwhile, Police said they have recorded three suicide cases in the county. A man whose age is said to be 36-year-old hanged himself to death in Wunrieng Payam of Rumbek North County on Tuesday.
Two other cases involved women who attempted to commit suicide, but were rescued.
