8 killed, 10 wounded in Warrap cattle raid attack

At least eight people are reported killed and ten others injured in cattle raid in Twic County, Warrap State.

The incident occurred in Aweng Payam Payam on Sunday.

Twic police director, Brigadier General Marko Mawien says the suspected raiders attacked a cattle camp in Madiaar village at around 3:00 am and drove away with 257 cattle and 20 cows killed in crossfire.

Marko alleges that the suspected raiders are believed to be from Unity State, an information Mayardit 90.7 FM has not independently verified.

‘‘What happen on the 2nd of July, there was an attack at a place called Madiaar where some armed youth raided a cattle camp and in the crossfire 8 people got killed and 10 got wounded.it was around 3am,’’ Brigadier General Marko Mawien told Mayardit 90.7 FM.

Mayardit FM’s attempt to reach authority in Mayom County of Unity State for comment was not immediately successful.
