Police in Aweil town nabbed 31 adolescent girls and boys for engaging in group sex in the jungle.
Of these, 23 are boys and 8 are girls aged 15 to 25.
The suspects were apprehended by police on Tuesday in Zara, a neighborhood of Aweil, following a tip from neighbors.
The accused allegedly engaged in group intercourse while under the influence of alcohol and other substances, as stated by the police spokesperson in Northern Bahr el Ghazal State.
"We apprehended them while they were practicing their act in the bush," Capt. Guot Guot told Akol Yam FM. "It is quite unfortunate. They threatened everyone who came across them.
Capt. Guot criticized the conduct, claiming it was against culture and that the police would not allow it to continue.
